Raised by a single mom, DeQuin went from homelessness to high school drop out, incarceration, and notorious Compton California gang member. DeQuin moved on to be a college graduate, a three year NFL athlete, four year CFL star/Grey Cup Champion and now husband, father, coach, owner of Gridiron Sports Performance and executive director of The Gridiron Foundation. DQ currently lives in Tacoma, WA with his wife, Jenna, and two daughters, Nova (3) and Selah (1).

After his retirement from football in 2018, DQ created Gridiron, a sports performance business that helps develop skills on the football field. He quickly realized that “his boys” needed more than training; they needed to hear God’s Word and to experience the love of Christ. DQ's mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus through the vehicle of football and to help young men establish a relationship with Christ. One of the biggest problems with our society is that young men do not know their identity in Christ, so DeQuin is on a lifelong mission to build kingdom men through relationship building and intentional discipleship.
